and House of Representatives cf the State
of South Carolina, now mel and sitting in
General Assembly, and by the authority of
the same, That tho members of said So?
ciety be, and aro hereby, declarad to bo
a body corporate, by the name and style
of the Springfield Baptist Church, und
by that name and style shall have a BUC
oession of officers and members, and
shall have a oommon seal.
SEO. 2. That the said corporation
shall have power to purchase, receive
aad held any real or personal estate, not
exceeding in value fifty thousand dollars,
and to sell, convey and dispose of the
same; and by its corporate uume may
sae and bo sued, in any court of oompo
?ont jurisdiction in this State; and make
such rales and by-laws, not repugnant
to the laws thereof, as they may deem
necessary and expedient.
SEO. 3. That this Act shall be deemed
and taken to bo a pnblio Act, and shall
continuo in foroe until repealed.
