There will l meetings to-night at the school house near M. S. Price's, on the Saline, and at Kev. A. W. Dahl -ten's church on the Smoky. Friday evening, meetings will be held at Falun post-office ami at the school house near Xoblc Barker's ou the Smoky. Saturday evening, there will he meetings at Bavaria anil at the school house near Perry C. Ititger's, four miles south of the city. Monday evening meetings will be held at the school house near Col. Logan's, west oftlie city, and at the school house near Daniel Hopkins, twelve miles south of the city. i " Credit Where Credit Is Due. In pass ing along the Avenue the other day wc were agreeably surprised to find the quantities of goods being received by our fellow-townsman, Mr. Julius Meyer. Mr. M. has been a citizen of Kansas for sever! years, and lias made for himself an enviable name, as an npright, straightforward dealer in his transactions with his customers. His stock of groceries ami provisions is large and finely assorted, and his goods are always purchased for cah in the lowest eastern markets, thereby giving him many ad vantages. Mr. M. has made large con tracts with some of the. heaviest fruit dealer and growers in Michigan, and now makes ap- plesa specjaltyin hisbwiness. I have been most fortunate in my sojourn in this city to find such accomodations a com mand my notice and truly heartfelt thanks. Mr. A. II. Thompson, the proprietor of the Planters' Hou-c, is a gentleman who has the happy faculty of making all his guests truly as much at ease as though enshrined In their own home and by their own fireside. At his table all tlie epicurean can call for in tills border county is spread before him, and none need go away dissatisfied either on ac count of quantity or quality. Ills business has increased so much that he has found it necessa ry to remove to a larger building which is non being prepared for him, aud will probably be named ' the Cit r Hotel." J. The Dickinson county people are making great preparations lor their fair, w hich takes place at Abilene, on the 4th. Sth and 6th days of October.
