BIG ORDERS.
Werner Company's Book
Business Booming.
Every Day New Employes Are Given
Places Working Overtime.
Never within tho history of the
great Institution haa the volume of
business boen groater at the Werner
company's plant than at tho present
time.
Nover have more people been given
employment; never have so many
orders been booked ahead. Orders
are being refused almost dally.
And this Is not all holiday trade,
either.
If not a single order were booked
within tho next six months, the
Werner company's plant would not
of necessity decrease Us force one
man. For at presont tho order book
Is crowdod, and six months' steady
work would not complotoly olear It
up. But other big orders come dally.
Every day new employes are given
place, and every department from
bnsemont to attic Is astir with the
busy hum of Industry.
The machinery in the factory is run
many extra hours, and the packers
and sblppors can scarcely keep up
with their work. Many of the ship
ments are retarded a day on account
of physical Inability to handle thern.
From three to live car loads of pro
ducts leave the faotory dally for all
parts of the United States and
Canada.
The pay roll at the plant was never
so large as it is today, and when the
whistle blows at noon Saturday, in
dicating the completion of another
week's worki and tho men and
women file in ranks to the cashier's
window, the scene is one full of sig
nificance. It Indicates that hundreds
of homes are supported and made
bright and obeery by the existence
of this industry; It indicates that
the youth of this city have in the
plant a source of remunerative occu
pation, and all along these lines the
great force of the mammoth Institu
tion Is keenly felt.
And another point, too most vital
to Akron. The policy of the Wornor
company la now to concentrate In
this city all the most Important de
partments and greatest forces. Ak
ron is to be tho central power, and
here will be oonducted the Insti
tution's greatest work.

Thq captain Is o Tory short, but verj
