Financial Affairs
Generally, there was mora movement in
Money yesterdRy than on either of the two
preceding days, owing to the preparations
for meeting the payments maturing to-day,

nmrket; on the contrary, it was quite eay,

Eastern Exchange was still called steady
yesterday, at a($X huving, though some
houses Were quite full, and not anxious in
consequence to buy. Some of the l'ork
pHckers were selling Checks on the East to
obtain funds on which to operate here.
Gold was quiet at H3c. and 40c.,
and ew Orleans Exchange steady at par
and Mrremum' buying and sellina rates.
Time Bill and t'neuvrent Money were un
altered; Missouri Taper ruling at lc, and
Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin at Vit ills
count. Flour continued dull yeterdav, and prices
irregular, although the New York market
was fiini, with sales of 15,000 bris. Superfine
could not be sld here at over $4 CO, though
holders would not let it go lower than $4 75
(5.4 80. The sales rearhed only 1,100 brls. at
$4 75 to $6 25. Whisky was unchanged,
with salesof 1.2Anrls. there was no altera
tion in Provisions. Bacoa Shoulders were
d'Sjod of at 3s'$&c; but do sales of
bid s were made.
In Groceries there was no variation.
Whvat was unchanged and the offerings were
lirht, with a good request. Corn, Uye and
prisne Barley were linn, but Oats were dull.
Two of our packers began operations the
first of the Season yesterday Morrison, jCor
dukes & Co. and Henry Nye. We heard of
no sales of Hogs except Goo head at $6 50 per
cental, to be delivered the 1st of December.
Holders are firm and few are offering, but
there is a gradually-growing disposition to
ony at ueiier prices on tne part ot pur
chasers. The Imports and Exports of the various
