His "modesty" prevents liim from asking for money wheu he is soliciting rotes for his favorite candidates. Wo have not said much about wanting money for some time, and as a matter of course we have been pretty hard up. We need money now, and we need it bad. In other woida we are out of sugar, meat, bread and potatoes, so to speak.
