GreatFalli, Aug. 8^ At ^ o'clock^thia morning a party of searchers^found the body of Mrs. Hettie Carrigg^In Sun river, about 5s feM from where^Professor Lortllard aaid he saw her go^down. At 4 a. in. a parly composed ef^Leo D. Marah, Arthur Ouerin, B. C.^Walker and Joe and Frank Herring,^accompanied by Profeaaor Lortllard.^aerured a horse and wagon and pro^^ceeded to the spot where the drowning^occurred to continue the search aban^^doned last night by the sheriff on ac^^count of darkneaa. It waa a party of^frlenda of the dead woman, she hav^^ing been, until about two montha ago.^housekeeper for Joe Herring. They^carried a large quantity of powder^v .th them which was exploded at va^^rious points near the apot where the^woman was auppoaed to have gone^down.
Atintervals members of the party^dove for the body, while the grappling^hook was operated by Arthua Ouerin.^After three hours' hard work the^hooka caught something, and on being^brought to the surface held the body^hooked at the hip. The form wag en^^tirely divested of clothing and on be^^ing liruught up mjs wrapped In cloth^^ing and under orders from Coroner^Brady brought to Cook's undertaking^parlors. Mr. Hutchinson, the dead^woman's father, arrived from Belt thia^morning. At I o'clock Coroner Brady^empaneled a Jury compoaed of J. W.^Cornelius, W. H. Harrison. W. P.^Beachley. A. J. Vance. N1ck O'Brien^and Charlea Giea. Mr. Hutchinson^was present and listened to the testi^^mony of how hla daughter came to^her death.
ProfessorLorlllard testified to the^^ame Import as In his Interview with a^Standard reported last night. They^were In bathing together and had de^^cided to cross the stream, carry their^clothing and wheels over and return^home by a less aandy route. He was^not aware she was following him down^stream, as he had told her not to, un^^til he heard a scream and saw her go^down. He tried to reach her but waa^fully 300 feet away and could not.^After her disappearance he came to^the city on hla wheel and informed the^eheriff.
Theother members of the searching^party testified as to the llnding of the^body and Its condition. There were^no marks upon it save water discolora^^tion. After a short deliberation the^Jury returned the following vfrdlct:
We.the Jury, And that Hattie Car^^rigg (according to the evidence In the^case), came to her death by accidental^drowning in' Sun river, about four^nillea from Great Falls, on tlx- 7th day^of Auguat. 1897, about 3:45 o'clock^p. m.
Thefuneral wil lbe held to-morrow^and Interment made here. All day^long the morgue was visited by a^throng to take a last look at the dead^girl and none but stopped to marvel at^the beauty of one whose sad end all^deplore.

At^the ranch of Fred Nelson, not far from !^there-, a few days eince, two Uttle chil^^dren belonging to Chris Nelson, a ranch^laborer, were playing near some out^^buildings with firecrackers. The young^^est child. Minnie, aged !^ years, was^hiding in one corner of the Ice house in^which several cans of coal oil were^stored. In some manner the Ice house^caught fire and when the flames reach^^ed the oil there was a terrible explo^^sion. Little Minnie was covered with^burning oil, but managed 10 make her^escape from the doomed building. All '^the men on the ranc h were at work In^the field. When Mrs. Nelson saw the^child envelcrvd in names, rughlng to^^ward the houge, she ran out and met^her. Soon the (lames were extinguish^^ed but too late to save the babe's life.^The tire had been Inhaled and the^child's mouth and throat were horribly^burned. An hour after the accident^the little sufferer passed away.
