It is now well under vtood by associations of business men that preventable diseases are great drain upon the financial re sources of the community. That tuberculosis in particular, which is a continuous epidemic, demand® heavy financial sacrifice from th« state. In many communities there it a vigorous demand- for the proper hospitalization and care of tuberculc sis. As a disease ofsthe masses, so ciety as a whole must be responslbl for its control. But the Preventoriun much more effective than the San atorlum for the Preventorium takes the physically .subnormal child anc gives him the power to resist dls ease, meanwhile developing an effi cient citizen. The Preventorium il lustrates the fact: "An ounce oi prevention Is better than a pound ol cure" and appeals to the business tense of the community.
