MONDAY EVENING, FEBRUARY 14. One ok a Po3SE Killed.?There is great excitement in the neighborhood of Paw* Paw, W. Va., a few miles ea3t of Cumber lnnd, Md., over the killing of Miilard White, (f Wheeling, one of a posse who started from Paw Paw Friday night to punish a guilty couple. The tragedy occurred at a (t-?int on Timber Kidge, some distance from 'lie town of Paw Paw. About a week ago ?i 3Ir.?. Wallace, aged about thirty yeats, left her husband and went to live with u man named Miller. The neighbors notified iba couple to leave the locality, which Mil? ler and bis uew companion refused to do. This so enraged the neighborhood that a pusse of men, among whom was Mr. Wal? lace, the deserted husband of tho woman, .started to the house whs-re Miiler and the woman were living together, for tho purpose of tarring aud feathering the couple. Among the men in tho posse was Miilard White, who was in that locality attending the funeral of Lis mother, who died a few days ?ffore. White was persuaded by tbo party i ? accompany them to tbo house. Tho party arrived at the bouse about teu o'clock Friday night. White was the first of the posse to enter. Miller sprang from his bed, seized a double barrelled shot uun, which was loaded with buckshot, and killed White instantly. The balance of the party lied af ter hearing the shot fired, which gave Miller :i chance to make good his escape, and from last accounts he had not been captured, al? though a large crowd aro searching the country for hiiu. Leaving the Assembly That Ordered the strike.?The New York Brewers' Union met yesterday. The- members were outspoken against the leaders of District As? sembly 49 and said they could not under? stand why the brewer*, of ! the trades, had been ordered to help bolster a forlorn cause at the eleventh hour, which '-!!i*: bad vainly ordered them to do. Mr Herbraudt, the Secretary ui National*Brewerf.' Union, expresped the belief that the strike bid t een wofuiiy mismanaged from the start, and it W&b doomed to disastrous collapse from its inception. Tho brewers' would not Btrike because they were earning good wages, and would not risk there advantages, besides breaking their contract, when th<- usuit would only be addition to the common loss. Resolutions embodying these opinions were adopted, atid this action was supplemented by an official determination that the brew? er's organization should withdraw its dele? gates from District-19--which is, practically secession from that body. Tbc beer drivers1 organization, at a meeting at the same hall later in the day, took action identical with that of the Brewers1 Union. Another t.it'v Saved. About two years ago a prominent citizen of Chicago was told by bis physicians that he must die. Tbey said his system was so debilitated that there was nothing left to build oc. He made :up his mind to try a "new departure'.'-' He got some of Dr. Pierce's "Golder< Medical Discovery" and took it according to directions. He b?->>an to improve at once.
