Over iS,000 guests were present. The Tabernacle had been transformed for the occasion into a vast conservatory of flowers tythe decorator. Tbo edifice was filled >>ofore eight o'clock, the hour set for the ceremony, with the most brilliant assenib l?ge ever reeu in that city. The Rev. Dr. T. Dewitt Talmage, the father ol ihe bride, and his brother, the Rev. Dr. Goyer Tal mage officiated The ushers were Winfield Scott, son of th^ late General Scot!; Charlts Worthain, Ja? Dunn and Scott Carrington; Miss Co.'quict, daujzhterof Senator Colquitt. Miss Defuid. of Baltimore: M?s Tucker aid Miss G?llaudet, <;f New York, were brides* maids. The brid? was accompanied by Mis. May Talmage, her lister, as maid of honor, and by two younger sisters as attendants. The bride wore white corded silk en train, with trimming of the finest duchess lace. Her ornnmcuts were diamonds, the gifr ;?( the groom. The bridal bouquet was of lilies of the vallej and orange blossoms. A re? ception followed at the family mansion, No. 1 South Oxford street, which, like the ctiurch, was a perfect bower of plants and flowers. The presents were almost innum? erable, and were elegant and costly. Among those present were Gen. W. T. Sherman, Mi-s Sherman. Senator Colquitt, Mayor Whitney, Hon. and Mrs. J. S. T. Stranahan, Cyrus W. Field, ex- Mayor and Mrs. Seth Low, of Brooklyn, ex-Mayor Grace, of New York, Gen. and Mrs. Stewart L. Woodford, Miss Woodford. ex-Mayor and Mrs. F. A. Schroeder, of Biooklyu. Dr. Talmage naed an impressive ceremony of bis own compo? sition, and before he gave his blessing ad? dressed the couple in a few words of encour? agement and advice.
