Well, here is the sjieeeh that he made
on Tuesday, July 11, 180il:

you, my fellow eiti.ens, that I am here
to show you a test of my friendship,
cheers. I wish to inform you that 1

there and have, thisdraft suspended and

you as good eiti.ens to wait for his re

all that 1 can to see that there is no in

I wish you to take good care of all prop

property and persons rests with you,
and 1 charge you to disturb neither. It
is your duty to maintain the good order

there is no harm done to persons or

'i lie riot was got up on account of the
draft, and Seymour, it will be seen,
promised his friends that the draft
should lie "suspended and stopped."
The audience was so peace-loving that
it was necssnry to assure them that New
