Peterson's Magazine, For January, is on our table, it is an ox cellent number, containing a beautiful Fash on plate and two steel engravings together with its usual variety of reading matter. Blackwood's Magazine* And the British Reviews, will be found advertised in another column. It will be seen that Leonard Scott ft Co., offer very low terms. These reprints aro acknow ledged as superior to all works of the kind ever published, (he universally recognized standard of excellence and the dictators of English literature. Any man of intellect and taste would give more for these reprints than all the other msgazines and reviews in tho world, combined. Art Journal. We have received the December number of the Cosmopolitan Art Journal. It ia a splendid specimen of typography, and con many fine articles and very excellent engravings. The picture for the new year is"F»lstaff Mustering his Recruits," one of the finest steel plate engravings ever published in America. The terms of sub* seription for the present year are three dol lars—for this beautiful engraving, a copy of the art journal one year, four admissions to tho Art Galleries, 548 Broadway, New York, and in addition several hundred beautiful works of art to be distributed to subscribers as premiums.
