A note from Josiah Lyons says that he had the misfortune to break his leg recently. Banker Dayton returned yestevday from a business trip to Minneapolis. Jeweler Frank Day was called to Minneapolis on Monday by the death of his mother. The rumor that Geo. Morton was dead is denied. We are glad to hear that he is recovering. Mrs. Chas. Pretty good show* ing for a cold and rough month. R. A. Firth has missed but two days in five years in distrbuting milk. This isn't such a "blizzard" country after all. John Mock our rubicund and Dem ocratic Wilmont correspondent, was in town yesterday. The ADVANCE is a news-paper as well as the official paper of the County. Last week in asingle colnmn, there were eight townships reported and 60 to 70 different items. Condensed news and point is what the ADVANCE gives. McLean'a and came in ahead again. He informed us that we got the first sack of fiour sold in town from the Worthington Miils. Now if we can have the first ride on the new railroad, we shall score one more. This probably all comes from having got into Worthington on the first passenger train that ever ran into the town, April 20, 1872. By reference to the Commissioner proceedings elsewhere published, it will be seen that the ADVANCE has again been duly named by resolution as the official paper of the county. This is as it should be for many rea sons. The ADVANCE office and files is the only place on earth where a com plete history and a complete record of official and other doings 6f Nobles county can be had. The friends and school-mates of Liz zie McMillan, in Worthington will lie pleased to read the following item from Cowl68 (Neb.) Our weak-minded and criminal neighbor, Bro. J. Miller of the Lu verne Herald, is showing signs of re covery. Either this, or the boys are putting up another job on him. For several years these boys have hired him to speak of the ADVANCEeditor as a "lunatic." They seem now to have taken the other tack on him. We no ticed recently the fact that he had now expressed doubts as to our "insanity," and in his last issue he says: The Herald desires to ask the par don of the Worthington Advauce man for some of its allusions to him. In mere jest we have referred frequently to his insanity, supposing that he was really sane but had a crazy way of do ing things. He adds that "Bro. Miller is natur ally a man of fine intellect." Let's see, Solomon says something about the "flattery of fools" being an injury and the "wounds of a friend" being a help to a man. Boys, don't in cite him to any more flattery. DRACE UP.
