For this we have often been taken to task by parties addicted to this nefarious habit, but none have been able to offer a reasonable ex cuse in justification of their course. The complaint most frequently ad vanced is that the stores in Worth- ington close so early that farmers cannot get to town after the day's work is done, to do any trading, and that as the merchants do not care enough for their trade to accommo date them in this respect they have resort to catalog houses. This ex cuse seems for fetched, inasmuch as it takes from one to four weeks to get supplies from Chicago, and local stores are open at least, one night in the week late enough to accommo date even the most tardy customer, and some stores are open every night as long as there is a customer in sight. However^ the merchants should show the greatest considera tion for farmers in this respect, specially during the busy season. How's This!
