upon yesterday afternoon to hold an Inquest
upon the body of a woman aged about sixty,
named Mary Bavley, who died at her resi
dence, No. 21 Melanctfaon-street, quite sud
denly, on the ntght of Thursday last. From
the evidence audueed before the jury the olr
oamstanoes of her death were these: When the
eldest son of the woman went to supper be
tonnd his mother somewhat unwell, and com
plaining of a pain in the head, but she did

his business. Upon returning, about twelve
o'clock, he found the door locked, and rapped
quite loudly for some time but received no
answer. Failing to awake bis mother, who
was atone, be opened the window and found
her lying with her face downward upon a
trundle-bed, quite oold and dead.
No marks were found upon the body, and it
appeared in the evidence that the woman was
highly esteemed ia the neighborhood And
