James Fox, station agent of tha Mich igan Central at' Mackinaw City, and wife came down on ' the train yesterday corning and spent tha day in town. Cheboygan was not the only place in the state that experienced a eold St. Fat-, rick's day in the morning. Weather way below zero was in fashion all over the state. Homer J. Field is going to take the small tug Katie to Black Lake as soen as the ice is out of the lake so that he can get her in. The following from the St. Ignaee News will be of interest to many of onr titizans. as tha young lady mentioned formerly resided in Cheboygan and haa many warm friends residing here: - Miss Stella Seaman, of Drummoad's Island, left her home on Friday morning with a team of six dogs and arrived here at 4:30 Sunday evening, having traveled a distance of 115 miles in three days. The first day out she made Detour, the next Htrengville, and the third this eity. She intended, on starting out, to take the stage at Strongville, but she found her own rig so comfortable she changed her mind. Throughout the journey she kept her feet warm by the aid of a bottle of warm water, which she got refilled at every house she passed. She continued on her journey from here to Fife Lake on a visit to her Bister. A young lady who would undertake a trip like this all alone,-through the wilds of northern Michigan, and in such severe weather, .should be placed on record as a heroine.
