The churches of the city were well represeited at the union meeting of the young people's societies, held at the Baptist church last Sunday evening. Miss Maude Saunders conducted the . meeting. The subject of the evening was "Faith" and the ar tides read by Mrs. Rindom, Miss Root and Mr. Townsend were ex client. The short talk by Mr Kirk patrick was very touching and also helpful. The Higl School double quartette gave onr selection and the solo "The Mis sioh of The Rose" was sung by Miss Bryant. But the brnomcorn ano feed crops came out all right and the last few days we have seer the same men drive up to tlx store on a broomcorn rnck, or return from market, stop the team with a resoundant "whoa" as if he wanted everybody to heai him, jump of the wagon with th spryness of a ten year old boy, with head erect. & smile on hit face, enter the store, cheerfully ereeting everyone he passed, wall direct to the proprietor,and pulling out a fat pocket book and say, " want to settle my account," and after doing that turn to one oi the clerks and purchase grocer ie.' and other supplies unstintedly, ah the time pleasantly chatting witl those in the store.
