Only Neeley Mentioned A meeting of the democratic central committeo'of the Seventl congressional District will be called for October 19 or 20, probably in Dodge City, to select a candidate for congress, on the democratic ticket. S. S. Graybill, chairman of the committee said last night that the members in the western part of the district had requested him to to call the meeting for Dodge City that it might reduce their expense and be more centrally located so a largo number of the committeeman could attend. Geo. A. Neeley, of Hutchinson is the only one that has been men tioned as a candidate. However, his candidacy has not been an nounced yet Hutchinson Gazette. Baby Show The babies of Liberal and sur rounding country are to have the time of their blessed little lives, for there is going to be a baby-show, given by the St. An drews Guild on Saturday, Oct. 28th, from 3 to 5 p. m. Babies entered in the contest up to eighteen months old. There will be three prizes; one for the prettiest under one year, one for the prettiest over one year and one for the fattest. The body of Mrs. J.. M. Mc- Nabney, whose death followed the birth of a child last Thursday, October 5th, was taken to King man for interment. The child, i girl is living. J. A. Miller, foreman at the coal shutes for the last four years, has resigned bis position here to accept a good position at Cuyhoga Jb alls, Ohio, He will leave the first of the week. Rev. W. T. Ward, pastor of the M. E. church, left for Carth age, Missouri, Sunday night, where he will visit for two weeks with home folks. The usual ser vices will be held at the church. Rev. Gibson will occupy the pul pit during Mr. Ward's absence. Bluebell. Health good in this neck of the woods. Everybody busy cutting feed, sowing wheat and some pulling broomcorn. Brother Williams preached at Bluebell Sunday, the 11th. Brother Crawford from eastern Oklahoma, preached at Bluebell Sunday night. Brother Crawford and wife are visiting their daughters, Mrs. L. Fincher and Mrs. W alter Fincher. They will leave Tuesday. . Charley Hammontree left for Galveston, Texas, Monday. The first frost here occurred on August 8th, and one last Monday morning; both were light and no damage was done. . The rain the first of last week was tine on late crops and good for wheat. Will Hammontree has been cut ting feed for Jesse Pontiug this week. Geo. Sharpe was in Liberal Monday. He is going to put down a well in the near future. Will Hammontree and family, Henry Hammontree and Mrs. J. O. Ponting were in the county scat Saturday. The Bluebell school is progress ing nicely. This is the fifth week. Mrs. W. A. Wright is still poorly. She is at her father's in Hayne.. W. A.
