SEALED PROPOSALS will be received at the office of the board of public works of the state of Kansas, at Topeka, Kas., until 2 p m. on Monday, April 25, 1894, and opened im mediately thereafter for all labor and material required in the construction of a Physics and Electrical Engineering Building, at the State University, Lawrence. Kansas, under the provisions of House bill No. 281, approved March 11, 1893, in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared therefor by Sey mour Davis, state architect, copies of which may be seen at the office of the board, state canltol grounds, after April 2. 1894. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check for a sum not less than 8 per cent, of the amount of the proposal, made payable to S. M. Scott, president of the Board of Public Works, state of Kansas, and to be forfeited to the state of Kansas as liquidated and assessed damages by the successful bidders if they fall to enter Into contract and give the required bond on or before May 2, 1894. The right is reserved by the board to reject any or all bids and to waive any defect or informality in any bid, If it be deemed In the interest of the state so to do. No proposal will be received after the time above designated. SEALED BIDS will be received by the Board of Directors of the Kansas State Peniten tiary, at the office of the Warden until 19 o'clock noon, of Wednesday, May 9, 1894, for the surplus output of coal of the penitentiary mine for one year commencing June 1, 1894. The successful bidder to take not less than 50,000 bushels during each of the months of April, May, June and July ; not less than 75,000 bushels for the month of August, and the en tire output of coal during the remainder of the year, excepting the wagon trrde at the mine, and the supply of state institutions, which is reserved.
