Resolution of Respect.
At a meeting of Whireville Lodge, No.
1 43, F. and A. M , October 5, 1S76, the
following preamble and resolutions were
adopted :
Whereas, It hath pleased an All-wise
Creator in His providence to remove
from our midst, and oar fraternal order,
on tha 22d day of September, by tha
hand of death, our friend and brother,
Josiah Thrrnton ; and
Whereas, We did recognize in him all
of the virtues and Christian graoes that
ever characterises a true Christian, and
worthy citizen, and in his death feel that
aociety, and the brotherhood to which he
belonged, has sustainad a sad loss in be
ing deprived of the pious examples that
his life shadowed forth.
Resolved, That we, as his brethren of
the order, dsepiy deplore his loss, but
bow in humble resignation to the will of
the Ueaveuly 'ather, who knoweth and
doeth all - things for tha best, and who
hatb, we sincerely believe, taken our be
loved friend and brother to that delight
ful clime, where the weary are forever
at rest
Resolved, That we greatly sympathize
with his family and relatives in their sad
bereavement, and would extend to them
our heartfelt condolence in the loss they
have sustained.
Resolved, That the members wear the
usual badge of mourning for thirty days,
that these resolutions be spread upon the
minute of the Lodge, and the Secretary
furnish a copy to the family of our de
ceased brother and to the Bolivar Bcl
