In this county, at Kelso, Monday, 10th
inst., Mr. EDON TEMrLLTON, aged 75
vears 6 months and2 days. Was born in
Iredill county, N. C, Jnfr 8tfi, 180; was
man led to Loucinda Snepard, February
17th, 1824; moved to Lincoln county. Ten
nesse , in 1820: was raised ip under the
care of the old Presbyterian Church until
1843. when he joined the M. E. Church
South, and lived a consistent member for
33 years. He died in the faith and professed
himself ready to die; said that all was well,
but his strength failed and he could cot
talk. He leaven an afflicted companion and
three daughters to weep, but they should
remember that their loss is his gain.
There is a balm lor those who weep,
A rest for weary pilgrims found;
They softly lie and sweetly slep
Low in the ground.
Cease then, mother, cease to languish
O'er the graves of those you love;
Lain and death and night and anguish
