Tun alarm of llro yesterday morning
was occasioned by tiro being discovered
in tho roof of Antrim's tailor shop. Tho
tiro companies were slow to reach tbo
spot, but when they did arrive, made sbort
work of tbo flro. Tbe roof of tho build
ing was entirely distroyed, and tho room
doluged with water, but tho damigo to
stock was trilling, nearly all of it having

The Odd-Follows of this city bad a

Thursday evening. After tbe transac

lato Mr. Ulanchard Fosgate, whole death
and burial occurred this weok, also died

"First Church" at 3 o'clock to-morrow af
ternoon. It will bo romombercd that a
son of Mr. Fosgato a young man, also
died only a few weeks ago. The death of
Mr. Fosgato and Miss Fosgato aro attrib
uted principally to oxcceslve g'iof, and
aro theroforo particularly sad. Mrs. Fos
gato, two sons and a daughter aro now all
of tbo family that remain.
Mr. Dlanchard Fosgate was a brother
of Mrs. Louis Jorgenion of this city.
Mils Hello Poigato, tho young lady whoio
death is announcod in tho above para
graph, spent a portion ofjlast winter in
this city, and was well-known to many of
our young pooplo. Tho circumstances sur
rounding tho death of Miss Fosgato aro
peculiarly sad, and will cause regret in
tho heart of every ono who know her,
