Circuit Couht, Tho case of D. Hurd
vs. the First National bank is still on
trial In tbo circuit courtand will probably

company's engine house was Alderman
McUauley, who, assisted by one or two
others took hold of tho tongue of the en
gine and started to run It out of tbo bouse.

down town tbe tongue of the engine
snapped off, throwing Alderman .Mc
Uauley vlolontly on the sidewalk, tho en
gine pairing entirely over blm. Tbeonly

that he was not killed outright, and hit

bore. Excursion trains will bo run on ail
tho railroads leading into the city, and a

and will no doubtdraw an immonio crowd
to see the hundreds of curious animals.

of citizens havo signed a request, addressed

Delta City cornet band, requesting them
to join in giving a series ot open air con

to the proposition to erect a sultablo stand
in the open lot at the corner of Division
street and Washington avenue. We un
