The death of Archibald Henderson, in
Havana, of yellow fever, is confirmed.

time. Unable to take up the forged note
before their maturity, when disclosure;

Henderson's means were oon exhaust
ed, and he began a futile effort to com
promise with his victims. The Ameri
can Exchange bank, are the heaviest
sufferer, lliey have taken about SW.OOO
of the forged notes, and other creditors,
acceded. His estate yielded about fifty
per cent , and he desired to give his per
sonal notes for the remainder, on condi
tion that he should be permitted to re
turn home and resume business w ithout
molestation. The majority ol the credit
ors were In favor ot giving him this
chance of redeeming hinwelf, but a few
relused assent, believing that Mr. Hen
derson's relatives would In time pay
