Mr. Holly, whose "water-works" sys
tem bas been adopted in many towns and

town by steam. Not the town exactly,
but the dwelling and bisinets
houses, churches, schools and public
buildings. He bas built a boiler house,
introduced boilers, laid 18.480 feet ot
steam pipe, and with everything ready to
commence operations, announces the en
tire cost at $37,480. The cost of Jeating
that portion of the town in which the
pipes have been laid, by the rrdinary
method;, has been estimated at $2,000,
000 annually. Mr. Holly says that he
can furniah the same amount of heat for
a fraction of that amount I: the plan
proves feasible, it will eflect an enor
mous aaving of fuel and labor, and re
lieve housekeepers, etc., of avast amount
of trouble. No fires to make, no kind-

no coal-houses nor wood-bouses
to be replenished, no rimy ap

less or no greater expense than by the
present method of beating houses, he will
