We will resume the publication of the Theatrical Bulletin,, as above, con taining the programme of the New Mem phis Theatre, and such other d vertiaements" as may be offered. At the meeting of the Board yesrday the resolution adopted at a former meeting relative lo the use of disinfectants in the sprinkling carts was rescinded, and a resolution adopted that a committee of three from the Board be appointed by the .chair to adopt some soluble disinfectant which the health officer will distribute to the watering carts, to be distributed in their rounds. Drs. Creighton, Rogers and Cavenagh were appointed a committee in accordance with 'the resolution. Dr. Cavenagh paid a touching and eulogistic tribute to. the memory of Dr. Study, member of the Board, deceased, and moved that a committee of three be appointed by the chair to draft resolu tions expressive of the seatiments of the Board, relative to the same, whereupon the following gentlemen were appointed such committee, viz : Drs. CreightnSi Cavenagh and Fenner. Dr. J. II. Krskine was placed in nomination as a candidate to fill the vacancy occasioned in the Board by the death of Dr. Study, and on motion was elected vive voce. The mat ter of tho non-reporting of cases of chol era was again brought up, and the pby sicians of the city censured for their failure to comply with the requests of the Board. United States. Coobt. The Septem ber term of the United States Circuit and District Court was commenced yes terday. The Court room1 has been re cently ornamented with a life-like and well executed oil portrait, three-fourths length, and life size, of his Honor, Judge Trigg. The picture was painted by Mr. Conart, of St Louis, and is a contribu tion from members of the Memphis bar. Court was opened at 11 o'clock by Mr. Coleman, Deputy Marshal, and the usual order, giving the first three days of the term to plead, was entered. The cases of the United States vs. N. B. Forrest uud the United States vs. E. W. Ruc-ker were continued, by consent, to the next term. Gen. Chalmers presented to the Court the rcsolutibos passed at a meeting of the Bar, commemorating the death of lion. Wm. K. Poston, with appropriate remarks, and as a token of respect to the memory of the deceased the resolutions were ordered to be spread on the records of the Court After a few well-timed and ppropriate remarks by His Honor, the Court adjourned to this morning. St. George's' Benevolent Societt. It is stated that there are about six hun- red Englishmen in this city., A short me since a number of them organized the St George's Benevolent Society, for the pnrpose of aiding any of their coun trymen in distress, and to meet and con verse of the good old times in Old Eng land. The Society now numbers about ighty active members, and is in a flour- hing condition. Last night they had a meeting in the United states District Court room, which was well attended, many ladies -being present, to. listen to an address by Gen. W. H. Morgan, on England and her institutions." The lecture was well delivered, and listened to with marked attention, interrupted occasionally by the hearty applause of those present. We learn that the So ety will have a grand picnic in the neighborhood of Chelsea on the 17th inst Wife Wbipmno. Anderson Jones, an American citizen of African desoent, and a distant relative of Brute Butler, was fined fifteen dollars in tbe aeoond istrict court last evening for whipping s wife. This morning three individ- als were on the roll at the first district for distinguished bravery, having whip ped their wives, their names were James Hosey, Owen McFadden, and Thomas Jennings. The first was fined fifteen dollars, the second was liken before a magistrate on a warrant, and the case of I TO the third wag continued. We have beeu informed that a sou of tbe Emerald Isle, who lives on Market street, east of Third, disgraces his native country, amuse himself, and annoys his neighbors by brutally beating hi wife whenever he needs exercise. A Nashville disnatch of the 1st inst, states that a man named Henry Euborn committed suicide under rotnan- t4c circumstances, by leaping from the suspension bridge? A programme -o( unusual' attraction at Zada's benefit A Mixed Case. Michael Shevlin is employed as a watchman at a Govern ment wood yard on the other side of Wolf river. Yesterday evening he ob served a negro in a wood pile and de maiided his' business, when the colored gentleman retorted by asking what he was doing there, and being joined by several of bis sable friends living in the neighborhood, armed with revolvers, placed the Government watchman under arrest, and - sent to town for policemen, A couple of "stars" arrived, and on hearing the case arrested seven negroes present and conveyed them to the. sta tion-house. This morning a warrant was issued by Esquire Creighton, and they will doubtless be tried before him to-day. A colored individual named Andy Mason was arrested on a warrant . issued yesterday by Esqnire Creighton for stealing some carpenter tools from Mr. Maloney. Andy wi probably have an opportunity of finishing the carpenter business at Nashville. Nature gives us teeth, but she does not preserve and purify them. That must be done with fragrant Sozodonl. The negro musician, Dixon, arrested on Sunday for raising difficulty at Jones' beer garden, on Pop lar street, was bound over by Esquire Creighton yesterday, in one thousand dollars bond, to keep the peace for six months. . Recovering. Col. F. V. Rockett senior editor of this paper, who has been confined to his room several days by sickness, is recovering, and in a short time our renders will again be gratified with emanations from his graceful pen in the editorial columns. Mrs. Wittig was examined before' Esquire Creighton yesterday,' on a charge of perjury preferred by a mas named Sullivan, and bonnd over in the sum of two thousand dollars to answer at the next term of the Criminal Court.
