determination into effect, we have placed oar

attend to the delivery of the Papers, and see
that subscribers are served punctually. We
hope this arrangement will be satisfactory to
all parties. Those who may desire to save them

The IJalloox AstKxsiox, by Mrs. Davis.
on Saturday last, creat -d a good d -al of ex

portion of our community. The balloon,
which is a very large one, was iuflati d with
rarified air, and left its moorings in fine style,

a t-aort asce6inn. it commenced returning

A Spkck ' War. A late London paper
say; 4It is a strange feature in the political
history of Europe at the present moment,
that every State is arming and fortifying it
pelf against some imaginary enemy, and that
the works are being hastened, according to
their own words, -in the provision of events
that may soon nrise.''' What events! Who ran
tell? Our brethren on the other side of the
Atlantic ere utterly at fault. Even little
Belgium is abou to fortify one of her tow ns,
at an expense of -10.00,00) of francs; while
the naval equipment ami fortilieations of
Cherbourg, now the principal French naval
station in the Channel, are said to border on
the marvellous for their p-rfectioii ami mag
nitude. What does all this mean, and what
id Louis Nepoleon preparing for!''

"I Told You So." Of all the phrases in
common use we know of none more prolific
of evil than this one: 4-I told you bo.'' A
man tired, sad and dispirited al the ill success
of a scheme, mints a friend to whom he re
lates his trouble in the vain hope ot sympathy,
tiuds his grief augmented by the sudden ele
vation of his friend's eyebrows, sagacious
shake of the head, and, the "1 told you so 1
knew how it would bej" eniirelv extinguishes
the little flame of hope that till then flickered
in his breast. "I tuld yuu o.'" so I did; and I
will continue to tell yo'i for yor comfort,
however, to wear ouly the cool and graceful
summer styles of Clifton, Albright A Co., the
fashionable clothiers. No. 1 j Cedar street.

In answer to the numerous letters addressed
to me on the subject of the Mustang Lini
ment, I would Bay that I have had no connec
tion with that article for several years.' It
was inveuted by me, and while put up under
my control and supervision, was universally
accepted by the public as the best liniment in
the world. In 1854 I sold out my interest in
it to other parties, and since that time it has
passed through the Lauds of several persons
most of whom have been so unscrupulous as
to mannfacture it of inferior and cheap arti
cles, and thus to entirely destroy its value as
a medical remedy, trusting for success in sell
ing it, to its former highly established reputa
tion. Its present proprietors have gone bo
far as to substitute other articles in its com
position for those in the original prescription,
so that the Mustang Liniment now vended
possesses no one of the distinguishing charac
teristics of the genuine article, as it was orig
inally invented and manufactured by me.
These parties, to enable themselves with more
facility to foist their worthless and injurious
article on the public, use my name as its spon
sor, calling it "Draco's Mustang Liniment,
and cautioning the public to beware ot any
other Bragg's Liniini-nt as an imposition
This is done with a view of exciting a preju
dice against "BitAuo's Arctic Liniment," an
article more recently inveuted by me, aud
possessing all the virtues of the original Mus
tang, with some improvements the result of
experience and later discovers s and manu
factured by Bragg &. Burrowes, which firm is
composed of my son, Oliver T. Bragg and
Michael Burrowes. This article is superiorin
many respects to the Mustang when it was
put up pure and in good faith, aud is immea
surably superior to the article now vended as
he Mustang Liniment. It is also the only
liniment manufactured to which my name is
appended by my authority or consent. In
conclusion 1 cannot hold myself responsible
for any of the evil results of using the Mus
tang Liniment now vended, and especially
after this public di;laimcr of any connection
with its proprietorship or manufacture.
