ANDREWrCGUNTY.
Andrew county oilers many advan
tages to the emigrant over many other
portions of the we-t. among-t which we
may mention the fertility of the .-oil, the
abundance of timber and water. A- a
fruit-growing county it is not surpa ed
by any portion of the I'nioii. Apples,
peaches, pears, grapes, plums, currants,
goojeberrie-. strawberries, raspberries
and blackberries all do well here, and
from all point- north of us we find a
ready market. Corn is our staple pro
duct in the v ay of grain. AVheat dees
not do so well, and is not con-idered so
sure a crop, although last year we had a
very good yield. The blue gra-s i- kill
ing out the wild gra-s very fast, espe
cially in the timbered portion of the
county. For stock, we may simply say
Andrew county is unequalled by any of
the older settled portions of the State.
We have school advantage- thatshoiild
recommend the county to all lovers of
progre-s. Our society is good, crime is
very rare, and we have as law-abiding a
people a- any in the Union. We would
say to thoe de.-irott- of making home- in
the we-t to vi-it our county, and we feel
confident that they will not bedisappoint
ed. as -ome are who vi-it the west, but
fail to give thi- portion of Mioiiri a
call.

Speaking of Hon. I. C. Parker's late
address to the Republicans: of Xodaway
county, the Iroutou Enterprise says: Mr.
Parker ably diseus-ed all the iiie-tion-now
before the people. He reviewed the
a-lion of the Republican party and the
ualioii.il administration, their cllorts to
enforce the laws, honestly collect and
di-bur-e the revenue of the government
and reform the civil service, and nio-t
coinplelely indicated the party am! the
administration from the charge.-of their
enemies. Knowing Mr. Parker to be one
oftheable-t public -jieaker- in the coun
try, we are confident his addiv-s was
both able and ell'ective. a- the syitop-i-shiitvs.
Mr. Parker is one of the earnest
