Benton High School is doing well
nnder the excellent management of
Professor and Mrs. A. S. Dale.—
During the winter months, when
more pupils attend school than at
any other time of the year, Benton
High School had an enrollment of
eighty-two pnpils. There are now
fifty-niue pupils in attendance.

Mr. J. H. Cabeeu bas been elected
Journal Clerk of the State Senate.
Mrs. L. G. Rasberry, of Bellevue,
is the guest of her daughter, Mrs.
B. F. Oneal.
Mrs. Mary J. Head, of Minden, is
spendiug a few weeks with her sis
ter, Mrs. N. A. Hill.
Mrs. S. H. Clark, of Rush Point
neighborhood, spent last week with
her sister, Mrs. J. n. Belcher.
Sheriff A. R. Thompson and Mr.
H. J. Lenoir left yesterday evening
for a short visit to Batou Rouge.
Mrs. J. P. Greswell left Sunday
afternoon to spend two weeks with
her aant, Mrs. Aunie Land, near
Midway.
Miss Zoe Hicks, of Shreveport,
spent a few days in Benton last
week as the guest of her sister, Mrs.
W. B. Simpaou.

Mr. and Mrs. W. E. McDade, of
south Bossier, visited Benton this
week, and were the guests of Capt.

Mrs. H. H. Montgomery, of Plain
Dealing, and Mrs. F. B. Haynes, of
Midway neighborhood, were the
guests of Mrs. n. N. Sibley, last
Thursday.
Miss Sallie Vaughan, of Midway,
and Miss Birdie Scott, of Sbreve
port, were the guests of Mrs. Brax
ton Wise Wednesday and Thursday
of last week.
Miss Mattie Oueal is engaged in
teaching a music class of niue or
ten pnpils in Benton. She is well
qualified for the work, and her pu
pils are receiving valuable service
at her hands.
