But true to their instincts aud
plans the story was started in
Jackson township that Kaler
men were trading Barnhi'.l,
over in Eigle, aud thereupon
trading was entered into in
Jackson, and while Barnhill
ran ahead, Kaler ran behind
the State ticket.
That this last trick was to be
resorted to we well knew We
did not learn that Huston was
personally engaged in this kind
of thing till alter the election
We know now that be ap
proached oue man and pro
posed to make "a good thing"
for Barnhill by trading, but
whn the party approached on
this scaley tric't refused to go
into it, lluston begged him not
to tell on him, and the parly
said be would not tell it until
after the election.
The result showed that Kaler
ran enough ahead in the east
ern part ol the countyto have
been elected had the trading
business not been entered into
in the western part of the
county. Every candidate on a
ticket should have a fair

didate may secure what votes
be can honorably. It is ml

tation of Judge Abrahams.
