Exclusive Stats and County privileges will be disposed of on unusually ia.r terms, by application to the Proprietor. FARMERS AND STOCK RAISERS. I offer you a Corn and Cob Hill unsurpassed in the Union, and which cannot be superceded by pastor future .inventions, it is the very Hill which every Farmer and Stock Raiser should have; it will crush from 6 to 10 bush els Corn and Cob per hour, with one horse: is easily fitted up and managed; weighs 840 lbs, and as all contact of the grinding surfaces is prevented, will last any farmer an or dinary lifetime. I speak thus of its durability because the same principle has been fairly tested in the old Bark Hill, "Who is it that wants A MILL ON TRIAL for one month, and if it don't give complete satisfaction, to return it f If there be any man thus disposed, let him now speak. Satisfaction is warranted in ever j case, or the mon ey will be refunded. This Crusher can be attached to horse, water or steam power,' which renders it the most convenient Mill south of Mason's and Dixon's line. All other Crushers now in the south require too much power, or will soon wear out. According to THE LAWS OF NATURE a Corn and Cob Mill which admits of a lateral or wabbling "motion, will, necessarily, soon wear out; all other Crushers are amenable to this grand objection, and the Proprietors dare not dispute it. In the construction of "Yomta Ahxk ica," I have gained power, and I defy contradiction; I have lessened friction, and I challenge one ward to the contra ry; 1 have preventeda wabbling lateral motion, and all are compelled to acknowledge it: therefore, I assert that it is Jar superior to any other Mill. 1 am now selling this Ten ccs see invention at the small sum of FIFTY DOLLARS. And any one wanting a "good thing," is earnestly re. quested to examine the true merits and principles of this Mill, and order from the Proprietor cr Agents. A liberal discount made to dealers. ' J. EXCELSIOR CORN AND COB MILL SOMETHING EH HEEL Y NEW. Patented by Charles Ltavitt, February 27th, 1855 r I lHE abave cut rnriftAnia n MMn( an volr.nKla 1m JL provement by Charles Leavitt, in PORTABLE niwua iiuxjL.3, adapted to crushing Corn and Cob together for Stock, and crindinir Meal far fimilr Mr. LeaTitt beine the otieinal inventor ot this kind of a ma. cuine, ina irom long experience wttn cist iron corn-crush.- ex, unaing mat nil oi inem were name to objections, tne most formidable of which was their want of durability or liability soon to wear out. he airain went to work with th view of removing the objectionable features. In February, 1855, he succeeded in ootaining letters-patent for the "Ex. celsierCorn and Cob Mill." and now has the satisfaction cf being able to present the above Mill to the farmers of ue united estates, standing as it does at tne bead of the f n .1 I.. .i j i r ... c 1 1 u ifviu-fiuauciB, lajujuiuuig me wu tuauues oi ail, exemot from the defects of any, and possessing many new, valuable, and distinguishing features, of which all others are destitute. We have remarked that the great and heretofore insur mountable objection, urged with so much force sgainst cut iron mills, was their palpable deficiency in durability. To remove this objection was a desideratum long sought for. and which has been at length attained in the "Excel sior Mill" only; the grinding surface of wnich consists In moveable rings, made tn nsrd and superior metal, and which, when worn out, can be replaced m fire minutes by new rices, at a cost of $3. wnich makes the mill as rood as new, there being no other part liable to wear out. Two setts of grinding rings accompany each .mill, making it equal to two mills. This peculiarity, possessed by no Oiner.mill, should not be overlooked by purchasers, as it Insures durability, a consideration of all others the most important. Another interesting feature in this mill, and one which we think-will secure tor it a just consideration of merit, is in its being provided with a meal conductor, by means of which the meal is discharged into a half bushel, instead of being scattered around the mill, as, is ordinarily the case. This mill having been fairly tested with other mills at the late Fair of the Maryland Agricultural Society, at the Ohio State Fair, and elsewhere, at all of which it establish ed its superiority, we do not hesitate emphatically to pro nounce it ure-eminentlr superior to anr and all other corn crushers of the day, independent of its moveable grind irg rings, which feature of itself makes the distinction be tween the "Excelsior" and all other corn -crashers so broad as to render a comparison eupei tloous: ana. a an evidence of our sincerity, we hereby anuounce ibatwewill give a silver cuptoaay Corn Crusher that can be produced, of the same sixe sb d same length of lever, that will grind finer and faster than the Excelsior, at some time and place to be agreed upon. Capacity of grinding corn and cobs with two horses from 15 to 20, and with one hone, from 8 to 10 bushels per hour. Cost of Running the Excelsior Mill for Ten- Years, Compared with that cf ether MM in uit at tfili time. It has been proven br experience, and contrary to ren. eral expectation, that cast iron Mills for grinding Corn, ett, to do the work properly, will not last more than two years. In new or this fact, the inventor ot the Excelsior Mill has labored to produce a machine that will be more economical, and at the same time more cfT-ctual. The fol lowing estimate will show the cost of grinding with each of the Mhls cow in use for ten years: Cost of Excelsior Mill, $50, including an extra Bet of Grinding Plates, which makes it good for lour years. Cost of repaira for six years, $9, making forten jears,$S9. Cost of common Mills,, witn out any extras, says $14. Cost of running the same for ten years, supposing that the Mill will last as long as the Excelaior Mill without repairs, aaytobe renewed every two years, which in this case must ne done aiwe expense ot a new machine each time, $ 17, making for the teu years a cost of $220. This samo rule will apply toanrand all of the Mills now in use which come in competition with the ExcelsiorMill. farmers and omers in want or mills lor grinding Corn snd Cob, etc., will see by the above estimate that the Ex celsior Mill can be used for the purpose rcqured at less than one-third the expense of any other Mill now in use. This Mill may be put up in a few minutes by any ordi nary farm hand, printed directions for which accompany each Mill. The undersigned having purchased the right to the aboie Mill in Middle Tennessee, take pleasure in introduc ing it to the public, believing it to be all that is claimed tor it. and wen wormy me aiteniion ot every farmer. STOCKTON'S Patent Straw Cutter, THE multiplicity of Straw Cutters already before the public, a iarge proportion of which h aving failed suc cessfully to stand the test of thorough trial, and having fallen far short of tbe repreijntatlons of the renders, as well as tbe expectations of the purchasers, a general dis trust has been created in the public mind for all machines of this description. Hence it becomes a consideration of the utmost importance before thegeneral introduction of a machine, conornirjg which there is so much doubt, and connected with which there hare been so many failures, that it should first hare been auljected to the most thorough and critical test, and its claim to merit clearly established beyond a doubt. This machine has now been in existence upwards of twelre months, during which time it has been submitted to the severest tests, and has under. gone modifications and alterations, with a view of bringing itas near perfection as possible. It is now complete, and presented to the public in the full confidence that it will meet the wants ot tbe farming community, and sustain the high reputation it baa already obtained, and tbe opinions formed of it by all who hare used it. v e claim lor it 1st. Otheraavantagss might be mentioned, but would occu py too much space. It possesses one peculiarity, however, so remarkable and important that we cannot forbear making mention of it. We allude to its Everlasting Spring, designed to keep the knife always in its roper place, and secure uniformity of execution, at tbe same'time yielding to any hard and for eign substance, the appearance of which in most machines would be liable to produce serious injury.
