AGENTS wanted In every county in this and adjoinine States to sell the above Bew and isiproved CORN AND COB MILL. To all such, a? rare chance to mike money will be offered . Exclusive Steta and County privileges will be disposed of on unusually fa r terms, by application to the Proprietor. FARMERS AND STOCK" RAISERS, I offer you a Corn and Cob Mill rasorpasseddn the Union, and which cannot be superceded "by pastor future intentions. It is the very Mill which every Fanner and Stock Kaiser should have; it-will crush from Slo'10 bush els Corn and Cob per hour, with one horse; is easily fitted up and managed; weighs 40 lbs, and as all contact of the grinding surfaces is prevented, will last any farmer an or dinary lifetime. I speak thus of its durability because the same principle has been fairly tested in the old Bark Mill. Who is it that wants A MILL ON TRIAL for one month, and if it don't give complete satisfaction, to return it f If there be any man thus disposed, let him now speak. Satisfaction is warranted in every cue, or the mon ey will be refunded. This Crusher can be attached to horse, water or steam power, which renders it the most convenient Mill south of Mason's and Dixon's line. All other Crushers now in the south require too much power, or will soon wear out. According to THE LAWS OF NATURE a Corn and Cob Mill which admits of a lateral or wabbling motion, will, necessarily, soon wear out; all other Crushers are amenable to this grand objection, and the Proprietors dare not dispute it. In the construction of "Y otrso Amis ica," I have gained power, and I defy contradiction; I have i lessened friction, aad I challenge one word to tha contra ry; 1 have prevented a wabbling lateral motion, and all are compelled to acknowledge it: therefore, I assart that it is far superior to any other Mill. I am now selling this Ten nessee invention at the small sum of FIFTY DOLLARS. And any one wanting a "good thing," Is earnestly re quested to examine the true merits and principles of this Mill, and order from the Proprietor cr Agents. A liberal discount made to dealers. J. P. SOMETHING ENflRELY NEW. Patented h) Charges Leaviii, February 12.7 Gi, 185a rpHE above cut represents a recent and valuable im- jl. provemeni Dyucaries Leaviit, .in Juill AiUjfc; GRAIN MILLS, adapted to crushing Corn and Cob together for stock, and nrindinz Mtal for fimilv use. Mr. Leavitt being the oriemal inventor of this kind of a ma- -LJ . -.1 i - L. uuue, uu uvm long expeneuco wuu vab iiuu curu ui uu ers, finding that alloi them were liable to objections, the most formidabls pf which was their want of durability or liability soon to wear-out, be again went to work with the view of removing the objectionable featuras. In t ebruary, 1855, he succeeded in obtaining letters-pitent for the "Ex- fc..MW4 VUI U nUU VUU iltllla U -J ...... ua .uw of being able to present the above Mill to the farmers of me untied mates, standing as u does at me neaa oi me list of Corn-Crushers, combining the good qualities of all, exempt from the defects of any, and possessing many new, valuable, and distinguishing features, of which all others are desutnte. We have remarked that the irroat and heretofore insur mountable objection, creed with bo much force sgainst i r .11 . i . i i i : j ! : 1 cjairou miiiBf was uieir paipuuic ueuciBucy iu uuruuuitj. To rem6ve this objection was a desideratum long sought tor, and which has been at length attained in the. "Excel sior Mill" only; the grinding surface of which consists In moveable rings, made in hard and superior metal, and which, when worn cut, can be replaced in fire minutes by new rings, at a cost of $3,.woich makes the mill as good as new. there being no other part liable to wear out. Two setts of grinding rings accompany each mill, making it oiner mill, should not be overlooked by purchasers, as it insures durability, a consideration of all others the most important.' Another interesting feature in this mill, and one which we think will secure lor it a just consideration of merit, is in its being provided with a meal conductor, by means of iwnicn me meal is disenargea into a nail ousnei, msieaa of beicg scattered around the mill, as is ordinarily the ;case. This mill having been fairly tested with other mills at the late Fair of the Maryland Agricultural Society, at the Ohio Ststa Fair, and elsewhere, at all of which it establish ed its superiority, we do not hesitate emphatically to pro nounce it pre-eminently ruperior to any and all other corn crushers of the day, independent of its moveable grinding rings, which feature of itself makes the distinction be tween the "Excelsior" and all other corn-crushers so broad as to render a comparison supeifinous; and, as an evidence of our sincerity, we hereby announce ihat we will give a silver cup to any Corn Crusher that can be produced, of the same size and same length of lever, that will grind finer and faster than the Excelsior, at some time and place to be agreed upon. Capacity of grinding corn and cobs with twe horses from 15 to 20, and with one horse, from 8 to 10 bushels per hour. Cost of Running the Excelsior Mill for Ten Years, Compared trilh tiuil of other Mills in ust al thistimt. It has been proven by experience, and contrary to gen eral expectation, that cast iron Mills for grinding Corn, eta, to do the work properly, will not last more than two years. In view of this tact, the inventor ot the Excelsior Mill has labored to produce a machine that will be more economical, and at the same time more effectual. The fol lowing estimate will show I he cost of grinding with each of the Mlils now in use for ten years: Costbf Excelsior Mill, (50, including an extra set of Grinding Plates, which maxesit good fur lour, years. Cost of repairs for six years. 9, making forten years, $59. Cost of common Mills, without any extras, says $14. Cost of running the same for ten years, supposing that the Mill will last as longas the Excclaior Mill without repairs, say to be renewed every two years, which in this case must be done at the expense ot a ne w machine each time, $176, making for the teu years a cost of $220. This same role will apply to any and all of the Mills now iu use which come in competition with the ExcelsiorMill. Farmers and others in want ot mills for grinding Corn and Cob, etc., will see by the shore estimate that the Ex celsior Mil! canbensedfor the purpose requred at less than one third the expense of anv other Mill now in use. This Mill mar be put cp in a few minutes by any ordi nary farm hand, pnnted directions for which accompany each Mill. The undersigned having purchased the right to the above Mill in Middle Tennessee, take pleasure in introduc ing it to the public, believing it to be all that is claimed for it, and well worthy the attention of every Farmer, NASHVILLE BELL AND BRASS FOUNDRY, No 17J South Front Street, NASHVILLE, Term.
