On the 1st of March last there jverc only
nine newspapers in Tenneesse. To-day there
tire twenty, all in ft prosperous condition, and
we bear of four or 'five more starting.
. We are glad that ihrec ot these papers have
been started in MastTennessee one at Kings
ton, Roane county, which we have noticed
before, one nt Greeneville, called t'nc New
Era, nnd another, the Union Flag, at Jones
borough, Wasiiingt'in county. All these
papers in East Tennessee have the ring of
the true metal; all supporters of the admin
istration of ' President Johnson, nnd the
Amended Constitution of Tennessee.
