An interesting event will take place at

city. An oil portrait of the late Hon.
George Davis, of Wilmington, N. C. who
was in President Davis's Cabinet: as At

of America; will be presented by Cape
Fear Chapter, Daughters of the Confeda
racy, to the Confederate Memorial Lit
erary Society. The presentation will take
place in the North,. Carolina Room of the
Museum, in which the portrait will be
placed by the side of those of other dis
tinguished and' gallant patriots and sol
diers of the good Old North state. The
portrait will be received on behalf of the
Confederate Memorial. Literary'" Society
