Luke returned Monday even ing from the Nigger Boy mine at Hornbrook, Cal. Sunday evening five people were baptized at the Christian church and four rejoined. Revival meetings are being held every evening by Rev. Val landlgham of Ashland. The persons are Byron Works, Ralph Bowman, Mrs. Archie Estes, Mrs. Bentley and Miss Nolo Bentley, Etta Howard, John Lacy Jr., Everett Vance and Archie Esces. Peter Vandersluis was a Medford visitor Friday. The Odd Fellows lodge met for re hearsal Sunday preparatory to the putting on of their degree work in April. The young ladies' class of the Christian church met at the home of Mrs. Baccus Wednesday evening and spent a delightful time. Mrs. Withrow and daughter Verva were business visitors here Friday. Dr. W. R. Bagley left last Sunday for a few weeks In San Francisco, to look after the Bagley Caning Com pany interests. Mrs. E. A. Perry was 111 at her home Saturday and Sunday. Clyde Walls left for California some time ago. Vance Wolgamott was a Jackson ville visitor Monday. The subject up for discussion was playground equip ment. Mrs. C. W. Holdridge was se lected to see about getting a sand court, now constructed south of the building. All seemed to agree that the rose garden now under way should receive' the first attention, and unite efforts on securing swing and other simple, inexpensive apparatus. Several ladies returned Friday to set out,a row of lilacs along the proposed driveway and to start work on the rose garden. R. J. Luke returned home from a month's stay at the Nigger Boy mine In northern California. Billie Houston Is reported to be very 111 at his home. Floyd llell left Tuesday morning for a ranch about fifty miles from Klamath Falls, where he will work for an uncle for a few months. The executive board of the Com munity Club met with Mrs. E. A. Perry Wednesday afternoon. Fred Ilapp has moved into his new home. His mother, Mrs. Rapp, Is keeping house for him. Bob Wilcox was an Ashland visitor Sunday evening. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Denham of Anderson Creek will be pleased to learn that their son Frank ie is doing nicely. Last week be had a serious operation performed on him and is considered out of dan ger now. Mr. and Mrs. II. King of Frederick and boh Kenneth were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Luke Thursday evening. Mrs. McKay of Wilbur, Ore., is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Carl Leh- mann. . Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lchmann are re ceiving congratulations on the birth of a son, born April 1.
