One of the most pleasant events of the season was the ball given by the mem bers of the I. O. O. P. Thursday night in their handsome new hall. The rooms were orowded with people all of wtom eDjoyed the event. Tlie main hall has a door especially constructed for dancing. An elaborate supper was served by the ladies. Tbe event was in oelebration of the order taking possession of their new home, wbioh is now one of the most ele gant society halls in the state. Tbe en tire third floor of wbat is now known as the Nioheus-Goodman building is used. Tbe rooms comprise an ante or reception room, a kitchen, a dining or banquet hall deoorated in green as the prevailing oolor, a large main ball, a paraphernalia room, etc. The main hall is a beautiful room. The oeiling is of steel sheets iia large aod email squares handsomely painted. All the rooms are laid with polished hardwood. The lights are elec tric chandeliers and side lights of hand some pattern. Tbe windows are draped with heavy curtains and shaded by crim son shades. Last night the banquet hall was used as a reception room and was furnished with couohes, chairs and elegant rugs for the occasion. The large crowd of Odd Fellows and guests were hearty admirers of the completeness and riohness of the furniture and the general appearance of the rooms. The saffron blossoms of the elm are fairly out, and the plum trees have burst forth in fragrant white ness. The slower budding alders still look bare, however, amid their green and white neighbors. In these northern latitudes interest nevei ceaoes in noting how spring cornea hesitatingly, step by step. A glance up the river tbat reveals bluff and bank and tbe trees tbat border the stream, dis closes now, perhaps, the most attractive picture of tbe year. The season is young and full of promise. The delicate green color tbat has stolen on all the land scape, speaks of youth and hope and carries promise to tbe silent trees and bushes that bave patiently waited for this, their season of the year. Tbe lime between spring and summer is short, for tbe sunlight and shower will soon transform tbe delioate green tints into the deep, strong shades of summer and the early autum browns. Natures tremendous activities must needs work quickly, as they allow no time for by play or sentiment in North Dakota. The same familiar scenes along tbe 1 ttle river are to be seen at this season as in others. The water grass that branches into index fingers and points down stream is fringing tbe banks. Tbe old water rat gives the row boat a close race up stream and when be sees himself beaten dives to avoid the disgraoeof tbe finish. Tbe crested kingfisher dashes wildly on ahead and stopq at a dead wood station on a projecting stump to again survey for minnows. A pair of business like Bnipe 44 sail by close to the water and light suddenly by the river bank, with a quick turn and a short run. A couple of turtle doves on a dead limb seem sur prised and agitated as the boat goes by. Red and yellow breasts Hit through the trees, and tbe red winged blackbird sings his merry lay on a last year's weed stalk regardless of everything. Over the scene of welcome and security tbe shadow of a hawk is seen. His warning scream of disturbance and murder is beard as he disappears in the woods. Soon the wild roses and other prairie ornaments will appear along the bank and for the next few weeks nature will be busy trimming, re-arranging and per fecting her spring and summer orna ments on the river Jim. Very few remedies claim to cure such real, deep-seated blood diseases as S. S. S. cures, and none can offer such incontrovertible evidence of merit. S 8. S, is not merely a tonic—-it is a cure I It goes down to the very seat of all blood diseases, and gets at the foundation of the very worst cases, and routs the poison from the system. It does not, like other remedies, dry up the poison and hide it from view temporarily, only to break forth again more violently than ever S. S. S. forces out every trace of taint, and rids the system of it forever. Mrs.T. W. Lee, Montgomery, Ala., writes: "Some years ago I was inoculated with poison by a nurse who infected my babe with blood taint. I was covered with sores and ulcers from head to foot, and in my great extremity I prayed to die. Several prominent physicians treated me, but all to no purpose. The mercury and potash which they gave me seemed to add fuel to the awful flame which was devouring me. I was advised by friends who had seen wonderful cures made by it, to try Swift's Specific. I im proved from the start, as the medicine seemed to go direct to the cause of the trouble and force the poison out. Twenty bottles cured me completely." Swift's Specific— S. S. S.
