Ban Francisco, April 15.—Tbe County Committee of the Work- Ingmen's party held a private meeting yesterday morning at Charter Oak Hall to make plans for the coming election. A com mittee of ways and means was ap pointed to raise funds hy subscrip tion t« cany on the election. Active preparations Will be at once entered upon for the] election n? delegates to ihe Constitutional Convention. All recognised clubs will he called upon to choose three representatives, whose names they will send in to the Committee. A County Convention of delegates from nil clubs will then be called, who will canvass names openly and select three names for each delegate tn which the re spective districts are entitled. The ticket SO Chosen Shall then he again referred to the Ward Clubs, and candidates receiving a plurality of votes shall be declared nominated its candidates of the parly. Washington, April 16.—1t is now generally believed that there will he only two votes in the Ben ale Finance Committee next Thurs day in favor of the repeal of the resumption act, viz: Jones antl Voorhees. The Committee will vote for a substitute making legal tenders receivable for all dues except interest of the public debt on antl and after July 11 rat. It will also probably vote to repeal tho eighty* per cent, clause of the act of 1875 which retires legal tenders in pro portion to the amount of new bank note currency Issued and also pro vides for the re-issue of legal ten ders from the Treasury.
