EXCHANGE REVIEW.
New York, November 5 —The stock market
to-day, with the exception of a moderately
active business for a few minutes in the first
hour, when the accumulation of orders over
the holidays were being executed, was intense
ly dull. The close was dull but strong at the
highest prices, having strengthened in the
afternoon.
Government bonds were steady.
Petroleum opened steady at 85c. and after
considerable fluctuation closad at Styie.

eaal supply. Corn is dull. The off-coast wheat
snpply is restricted; the sales show, net, that
425.®42s Bd. has been paid for Australian,
425.0 d. for California and 435.9 d. for Oregon.
Three cargoes of wheat arrived, four were sold,
four withdrawn, and three remains.
