WHAT THB MINERS ARB DOING IJf MOILIVt COUNTY, ARIZ. The Outlook Better Than for Ten Tear* Past — A Number or Very Fine Prospects Being; Developed. Work In the Districts. Special Correspondence to tbe HaatXD.] KingmaN, Ariz., May 2.—The mining outlook in Mohave county is better than it has been for years. Capital is regain ing the confidence that was* lost entirely or else badly shaken some years ago by unscrupulous traders working their many wildcat schemes. There is mora rich mineral in Mohave county than in any other part of Arizona, and it only awaits the action of capital to prove the fact. At Mineral park the Home Pastime has been leased to the McCourt Bros., who have commenced a new shaft. They have already a large body of ore in sight, and intend putting up machinery to handle the water as soon as that level is reached in their new workings. Tbe Rural, another good mine, has been bonded to Philadelphia parties, and they have commenced the erection of a large steam hoist and pump.' This mine has been a good producer in tha past, and we are pleased to see it again in operation, and predict a good invest ment for the purchaser. At Ohloride the smelter has been com* polled to close down on account of scarcity of water, but the owners are building a large reservoir which will store more than enough water for the smelter's needs. After its completion we can expect a continuous run on high grade ore. In tbe Gold Basin district, Malcom McLeißh is working the Eldorado mine and O. K. mill under lease and bond, and is making a success of it, as he has done with all of his mining ventures in this county. The Senator mining com pany, whose headquarters are in Den ver, is opening the milling plant at the Colorado river, 12 miles from the mine, Tbe Senator is a good mine, that under proper management will prove a bon anza. After a period of dullness, the new camp, White Hills, comes again to the front. News has just reached here of the settlement in full of all claims by the company. Work will be commenced at once on the pipe lines to convey water for towu use and milling pur poses, and the erection of a 20 stamp mill will be commenced as booh as the material arrives. The mill will be located close to the town, and mill and mines will employ at least 600 men. Business in general is looking up, and merchants are preparing for the era of prosperity which will soon reach White Hills. The erection of reduction works will cause tbe opening of many other claims in this and aujoining districts, aa there are large quantities of low grade ore which would nut pay to ship .and can be worked at a profit here. West of the White Hills, the Horn Silver mine, owned by James Smith and others, is making a good showing. A new discovery, by J. L. Nelson and partners, about three miles from the Horn Silver, assays 24 ounces gold and 1200 ounces silver. The owners are pushing development rapidly. In the same district there is a group of claims owned by Hilty, McDonald, Bancroft and others, which will prove the foundation of a new camp. One of the claims, the Jumbo, shows four feet of ledge that assays 4' 2 ounces of gold and has tbe appe.irance of a true fls cure. The owners of these claims have just commenced development, and in tend sinking 150 feet in order to prove the fissure. These claims are within six miles of the Colorado river and within the limits of eight months' navigation. THE COURTS. Cnnpfl Which Were On Trltl or Com menced. Yesterday.
