The Northen beer selling case came up for final hearing before Recorder Rossiter this morning, and was postponed until 2:30 p.m., when W T Williams appeared for the deiend aut, who wss not in sight. In accordance with the request of defense a jury had been called, but Mrothcr Williams being in an unusually amiable frame of mind, waived a Jury, and entered a plea of guilty, waiving time for sen tence The court, however, examined two witnesses, by whom it was clearly proven that beer was not only sold over the counter with no lunch, but that they "rushed the growler," or in Eu*- Ilsh, sold beer by the bucket, one witness testi fying tbat he had frequeutlv purchased the article in this manner.
