■ An Ordinance declaring the intention of
the Mayor and Council of the City of Lo«
: Angeles to establish the grade of Moun-
tain View avenue, from First Btreet to
! Miramar street. .
The Mayor and Council of the City
I of Los Angeles do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That it is the Intention of the
Council of the City of Los Angeles to es-
tablish the grade of
■ MOUNTAIN VIEW AVENUE,
from First street to Miramar street, in
accordance with the following elevations:
At the Intersection with First street the
irrade shall be 354.40 at the southwest cor-
ner and 357.40 at the southeast corner, as
now established on First street. ■
At a point on the west side 50 feet south
of. the south line of First street the grade
shall be 360.00 and 360.00 at a point on the
east side opposite thereto.
At a point on the west side 140 feet
south of the south line of First street
the grade shall be 365.71 and 366.00 at a
point on the east side opposite thereto.
At a point on the west side 160 feet
south of the south line of First street the
grade shall be 3C6.84 and 367.20 at a point
on the east side opposite thereto.

the grade shall be 356.98 and 356.00 at a
point. on the west side opposite thereto.
At a point on the east side 110 feet
north of the north line of Miramar street
the grade shall be 358.76 and 357.80 at a
point on the west side opposite thereto.
At a point on the east side 90 feet
north of the north line of Miramar street
the grade shall be 360.74 and 359.80 at a
point on the west side opposite thereto. l
At a point on the west side 56.40 feet
north of the north line of Miramar street
the grade shall be 364.00.
At the Intersection with Miramar street
the grade shall be 370.09 at the northeast
corner as now established on Miramar
Btreet and 365.50 at the northwest corner.
And at all points between said desig-
n ated points the grade shall be estab-
lished so as to conform to a straight line
drawn between said designated points.
Elevations refer to the top of the curb,
are in feet and are above a plane which
is 255 feet below City datum plane.
Sec. 2. The City Clerk shalf certify to
the passage of this Ordinance and shall
cause the same to be published for ten
days in- the Los Angeles Herald and
thereupon and thereafter it shall take
effect and be in force. <
I hereby certify that the forgoing Ordi-
nance was adopted by the Council of the
City of Los Angeles at its meeting of
August 31. 1905.

An Ordinance declaring the intention
of the Mayor and Council of the City of
Los Angeles to establish the grade of
Fifty-eighth street, from Flgueroa street
to Moneta avenue.
The Mayor and Council of the City
of Los Angeles do ordain as follows:
Section 1. .That it is the intention of the
Council of the City of Los Angeles to
establish the grade of
FIFTY-EIGHTH STREET,
from Flgueroa street to Moneta avenue,
in accordance with the following ele-
vations:
A*, the Intersection with Flgueroa street
the grade shall be 147.04 at the northeast
corner and 146.88 at the southeast corner.
At the intersection with Moneta avenue
the grade shall be 150.38 at the northwest
corner and 150.23 at the southwest corner,
as now established on Moneta avenue.
And at all points between said desig-
nated points the grade shall be estab-
lished so as to conform to a straight line
drawn between said designated points.
Elevations refer to the top of the curb,
are In feet and are above a plane which
is 255 feet below City datum plane.
i Sec. 2. The City Clerk shall certify to
, the passage of this Ordinance and shall
cause the same to be published for ten

said street between said points alone
which a cement or asphalt sidewalk
five (5) feet in width has been construct-
ed to the official line and grade), said
sidewalk to be constructed in accordance
with specifications' for constructing
cement sidewalks on file In the office of
the City Clerk of said city, said specifi-
cations being No. 23 (New Series).
4th. That a cobble-paved gutter be con-
structed along each line of the roadway of
said Hobson street, from the south lino
of San Marino street to the north line
of Tenth street, and from the south line
of Tenth street to the north line of
Elevonth street (excepting along
such portions of the line of said road-
way along which a cement or gran/o-
block gutter has already been constructed
to the official line and grade, and also ex-
cepting such portions of »ald street and
Intersections as are required by law to
be kept in order or repair by any person
or company having railroad tracks there-
on.
Said gutters shall be three and one-half
(3%) feet In width, excepting at Intersec-
tions of streets, where said gutters shall
be seven (7) feet in width; and said gut-
ters shall be constructed In accordance
with the plans and profile therefor on file
In the office of the City Engineer, and in
accordance with specifications for the con-
struction of cobble-paved gutters on file
In the office of the City Clerk, said speci-
fications being No. 7 (New Series).
That two culverts be constructed
across Hobson street, as follows:
(1) A concrete steel culvert, cross-
Ing the east line of said street at a'
point 365.00 feet south of the south line
of Tenth street and the west line o'
said street at a point 278.20 feet south
of the south line of Tenth street. Said
culvert shall have two channels, each
of a clear width of 5 feet 6 inches, and
shall be provided with two catch-basins
and- connections for same, wing and
end walls at each end, and" one (1) cob-
ble-paved apron.
(2) A cement pipe culvert crossing
the east line of Hobson street at a
point 116.00 feet north of the north
line of Eleventh street and the west
line of Bald street at a point 111.00 feet
north of the north line of Eleventh
street. Said culvert shall consist of
two lines of cement pipe, each 30 inches
in internal diameter, together with
wing and end walls at each end, and
one (1) cobble-paved apron.
Both of said culverts shall be con-
structed in accordance with the plans,
profiles and cross-sections therefor on
file in the office of the City Engineer
of the City of Los Angeles, nnd In ac-
cordance with specifications for the
construction of cement pipe culverts in
the City of Los Angeles, on file In the
office of tho City Clerk of the City of
Los Angeles, said specifications being
numbered 12 (New Series).
Sec. 2. The Council of said city
hereby finds upon estimate of the
City Engineer that the total cost
of said Improvement will be greatc*
than fifty cents per front foot along each
line of said street. Including the cost of
intersections, and it is hereby deter-
mined, in pursuance of an Act of the Leg-
islature of the State of California, ap-
proved February 27th, 1893, as amended
by an Act of the Legislature amending
said last named act, which amending act
became a law March 2d, 1E99, that bonds
shall be issued to represent the cost of
said improvement. Said bonds shall be
serial, extending over a period of ten
years, an even proportion of the principal
sum of which shall be payable annually,
on the second day of January of each
year by coupon, after their date until the
whole are paid, and to bear interest at
the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum,
payable semi-annually on the second days
of January and July of each and every
year.

Angeles did, at its meeting on said day,
adopt an Ordinance of Intention, num-
bered 11,424 (New Series), to have the
following work done, to wit:
That a vltrlfled pipe sewer be con-
structed In said city in
EIGHTEENTH STREET. '
between Central avenue and Naomi ave-
nue, between the points, on the lines, at
the elevations and on the grades as are
designated on the plan and profile of said
sewer on file In the office of the City En-
gineer of said city (said plan and profile
being numbered 15,559 In the records of
said office; said sewer shall be. built
across such street or alley intersections,
and with such manholes, Junction cham-
bers, flushtanks, iron covers, steps and
buckets, and other appurtenances, as are
designated upon said plan and profile.
Said improvements shall be constructed
In accordance with said plan and profile;
In accordance with plans Nos. 25,452, 24,748
and 25.453 on file in the office of the said
City Engineer; and in further accord-
ance with the specifications therefor on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said
city; said specifications being entitled
"Specifications for the construction of a
sewer In Eighteenth Btreet, between Cen-
tral avenue and Naomi avenue In the
City of Los Angeles," and which specifi-
cations were approved by said council at
its meeting of August 17, 1905, which said
plan and profile, said plans and said
specifications are hereby referred to for
more particular description of said work.
Sec. 2. That said contemplated work
of improvement, in the opinion of said
City Council, is of more than local or
ordinary public benefit, and said City
Council hereby declares that the district
in the said City of Los Angeles benefited
by said work or improvement and to be
assessed to pay the costs, and expenses
thereof Is described as follows:
All that portion of the City of Los
Angeles included within the following
described exterior boundary line, to wit;
Commencing at the most northerly cor-
ner of lot 34 of plat of W. T. Dalton Or-
chard tract, as per map recorded in Book
1, pages 7 and 8, of Maps, Records of Los
Angeles County; thence from said point
of beginning easterly and parallel to the
north line of Eighteenth street to tha
most easterly corner of Bald- lot 34;
thence easterly in a direct line to the
most northerly corner of lot 66, of said
mentioned map; thence easterly In a
direct line and parallel to the north line
of said Eighteenth street to the most
easterly corner of lot 58. of said mentioned
map; thence southerly In a direct line
to the most southerly corner of lot 80 of
said map thence westerly in a direct line

Sec. 2. The Council of said city hereby
finds, upon estimate of the City Engineer,
that the total cost of said improve-
ment will be greater than fifty cents
per front foot along each line of said
street, Including the cost of Intersec-
tions, and it is hereby determined. ln pursu-
ance of an Act of the Legislature of
the State of California, approved Febru-
ary 27th, 1893, as amended by an Act
of the Legislature amending said last
named act, which amending act bo-
came a law March 2d. 1899, that bonds
shall be Issued to represent the cost of
said Improvement. Said bonds shall be
serial, extending over a period of ten
years, an even proportion of the prin-
cipal sum of which » shall be payable
annually, on the second day of Janu-
ary of each year, by coupon, after their
date, until the whole are paid, and to
bear Interest at the rate of seven (7)
per cent per annum, payable seml-an-
nually on the second days of January
and July of each and every year.

of said office; said sewer shall be built
across such street or alley Intersections,
and with such manholes, Junction cham-
bers, flushtanks, iron covers, steps and
buckets, and other appurtenances, as are
designated upon said plan and profile.
Said improvement shall be constructed
In accordance with said plan and prol.le;
In accordance with Plans Nos. 25,455, 24,748
25.453 and 25,454 on file in the office of the
said City Engineer; and in further ac-
cordance with the specifications therefor
on file in the office of the City Clerk of
said city, said specifications being entitled
"Specifications for the construction of a
sewer in Buena Vista street, between
Solano avenue and Casanova street, in
the City of Los Angeles," and which
specifications were approved by said
council at its meeting of August 21, 1905.

ferred to for more particular descrip-

Sec. 2. That the said contemplated work
of improvement, in the opinion of said
City Council, is of more than local or or-
dinary public benefit, and said City Coun-
cil hereby declares that the district in
the said City of Los Angeles benefited
by said work or improvement, and to be
assessed to pay the costs and expenses
thereof is described .is follows:
All that portion of the City of Los An-
geles Included within the following de-
scribed exterior boundary line, to wit:
Commencing at the most southerly cor-
ner of lot 95 of Solano Tract, as per map
recorded In Book 439, page 12 of Deeds,
Records of Los Angeles County; thence
from said point of beginning northerly
along the east line of Solano avenue to
the most westerly corner of said last
mentioned lot; thence easterly In a direct
line to the most northerly corner of lot
100 of said mentioned map; thence south-
erly along the west line of Casanova
street to the most easterly corner of said
last mentioned lot; thence continuing
southerly on the prolongation of the said
westerly line of Casanova street to a point
150 feet south of the south line of Buena
Vista street; thence westerly 'ln a direct
line and parallel to said south line of
Buena Vista street to a point on the
southerly prolongation of the said east
line of Solano avenue; thence northerly
in a direct line to the point of beginning.

from Flgueroa street to Moneta avenue.

bered 11,445 (New Series), to have the

HOBART BOULEVARD
in said city from the south line of San
Marino street to the south line of
Eleventh street, including all intersections
of streets (excepting such portions of
said street and intersections as are re-
quired by law to be kept In order or re-
pair by any person or company having
railroad tracks thereon, and also except-
ing such portions as have already been
graded and graveled and accepted), ba
graded and graveled to the official grado
In accordance with tho plans and profile
on file In the office of the City Engineer
and specifications for the construction
of graveled streets, Class A, in the City
of Los Angeles on file in the office of tha
City Clerk of said city, said specifications
being No/ 26 (New Series).
2d. That a cement curb be constructed
along each line of the roadway of said
Hobart boulevard, from the south line of
San Marino street to the south line of
Eleventh street (excepting along such
portions of the line of said roadway
upon which a cement or granite curb
has already been constructed to the of-

specifications for constructing cement
curbs, on file In the office of the City

3d. That a cement sidewalk five (5)
feet In width be constructed along the

goint 184 feet north of the north line of
lleventh street, and from a point 92 feet
north of the north line of Eleventh street
to the south line of Eleventh street, and
along the east side of Hobart boulevard
from the south line of San Marino street to
a point 230 feet north of the north line of
Eleventh street, and from a point 184 feet

portions of said street and intersections

Said gutters shall be three and one-hal*
(3%) feet in width excepting at intersec-
tions of streets, where snld gutters shall
be seven (7) feet in width; and said gut-
ters shall be ct nstructed In accordance
with tha plans /and profile therefor on
file in the office of the City En-
gineer, and in accordance with specifica-
tions for the construction of cobble-
paved gutters on file In the office of
the City Clerk, said specifications being

6th. That a steel' concrete culvert ba
connstructed across Hobart boulevard,
said culvert to be provided with wlog
and end walls, two (2) catch basins with
connections of vitrified pipe and one (1)
cobble-paved apron.
Said culvert shall cross the east line
of Hobart boulevard at a point 195.49 feet
north of the northeast corner of Elevonth
street and Hobart boulevard, and the west
line of Hobart boulevard at a point 148.21
feet north of the northwest corner of
Eleventh street and Hobart boulevard.
It shall have an Internal width of nine
(9) feet," a length of 90.54 feet and shall
be constructed In accordance with the
plans, profiles and cross-sections for the
same on file In the office of the City
Engineer of the City of Los Angeles and
In accordance, with specifications con-
tained In "Specifications for the construc-
tion of cement pipe culverts In the City
of Los Angeles," on file In the office of tha
City Clerk of the City of Los Angeles,
eald specifications being No. 12 (New

Sec. 2. The Council of said city hereby
finds upon estimate of the City Engineer
that the total cost of said Improvement
will be greater than fifty cents per front
foot along each line of sa'.d street, in-
cluding the cost of intersections, and it is
hereby determined, in pursuance of an
Act of the Legislature of the State of
California, approved February 27, 1893, as
amended by an Act of the Legislature
amending said last named act, which
amending act became a law March 2, 1»9!).

Angeles to establish the grade of Fiftieth
street, from Main street to Moneta ave-
nue.
The Mayor and Council of the City of
Los Angeles do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That it is the Intention of the
Council of the City of Los Angeles to
establish the grade of • .
FIFTIETH STREET, ". - '; > «Mi
from Main Btreet to Moneta avenue. In
accordance with the following elevations:
At. the Intersection with Main street
the grade shall be 162.63 at the northwest
corner, and 162.60 at the southwest corner,
as now established on Main street.
At the Intersection with Moneta avenue
the grade shall be 168.61 at the northeast
corner, and 158.50 at the southeast corner,!
as now established' on Moneta avenue. «■'
And at all points between said desig-
nated points the grade shall be estab-
lished so as to conform to a straight line-
drawn between said designated points. -■<-.
Elevations refer to the top of the curb,
are in feet and are above a plane which Is
265 feet below City datum plane.
