Tho Infalliblo Man of Moloknl
Ed Tun Independent
I now writo a fow statements
about tho Molokoi ranch n public
trust in charge of Mayor and when
you hivo read this letter yon will
believe That Meyer ought to sweep
his own houso firM and not go after
othor pooplo which lie has always
boon doing but not ho much finco I
hare been writing him up Meyor
talks and write1 about tho faults of
the deputy sheriff tho police tho
judge the dootor tho tax assessor
and tho teachers and only n few
weeks ago he was after tho Kauialo
postmaster but Meyer hud to pay
all tho snmo You cant but wonder
that people up hero dislike Meyer
when ho is always interfering
At Knnnnknkai the houses of the
ranch aro in n bad state tho fine
grass house of tho King has had all
tho grass eaten away and uothiug is
left but the roof and wooden studs
The Kings frame houso near by is
all rotten the steps uudor piuning
of the lauai posta shiuglon off
wiudown broken no paint no uails
over used overything going to ruin
It is in this building whoro the fake
Postal olllco holds out
A little mnultti are good boilers
under no cover and going to ruin
Those things may or may not bo
O K but tho people talk of it all
the time Its shameful neglect
The ranch itself produces rocks
biro coil kiawe trees aheop cattle
deer and goats Tho rocks baro
soil and kiawe trees are increasing
as well as the doer and goat but
there ii not much money in these
things and tho Trustees dont
seem to find it out The sheep tho
kauakis who shear thorn tell me are
only some 11000 when tho ranch
had a good shepherd thero were
ovor 20000 sheeps Tho wool ship-
ped last mouth was 78 bales last
year it was Us bales something is
wrotig
Yoars back tho ranch had many
thousands of cattle I hear to day
there are not 3500 heads and the
siock is getting less but not from
tho sale of cattle Meyor has gates
on the Government road and drink
ing troughs in tho middle of the
road near tho Iloulehua homesteads
and whou the wild cattle are strug
gling nud fighting for water a man
dare not to go on foot or he would
bo hornod
All the statements I know to be
facts everybody talks of them but
tho great Meyer has held office Binco
tho ti mo of tho ark does ns ho
pleases is omnipotent unimpeach
able and infalliblo I am williug to
lake back all my statements whon
the Infallible Moyer proves them to
bo untrue W T Callow
