The Right Rev tho Bishop of
Honolulu held service over the body
of the late Princess Kaiulani at
Ainahau this morning Only the
father and intimate friends of tho
deceased were present during the
offering of prayers by the Reverend
Bishop
After dark this evening tho re
mains of the young chiefess will be
carried quietly to the old stone
church where they will lie in state
to morrow from 10 a m to 4 p m
A guard of honor from Co G the
Hawaiian company of the N G H
will be in attendance Major Potter
has been very busy in arranging the
funeral ceremonies and has at all
times given way to tho wishes of
of Mr Cleghorn On the day of
the funeral the major will be assist
ed by Major Iaukea Capt Pratt and
Capt Wilder
The hearse will be drawn to the
mausoleum by members of tho dif
ferent Hawaiian patriotio leagues
but the girls from the seminaries
will not take a place in the proces
sion
Mr Cleghorn has selected the pall
bearers from the personal friends of
the late princess and of his own
The Hawaiians have faithfully paid
their respects to their beloved alii
by weeping at her bier day and
night during the sad week of mourn
ing at Ainahau

ing that the remains of Lunalilo
and Kanaina have been removed
from Kawaiahao to the Royal Mau
soleum Can you tell me when it
happened and by whoso authority
I alwajs understood that Lunalilo
selected his burial plaqo outside the
Royal Mausoleum because he was a
King of the people not a ruler by
divine rights

anu thence to the Royal Mausoleum
