The Democratic Territorial Con
vention mot in the Drill Shed last
evening to elect delegates to the
National Democratic Convention at
Kansas Cily on July 4 Nearly
every representative district was
ropresontod
Frank Brown was olooted tempor
ary chairman and JMSims tem
porary secretary
Mr Rhodes then moved that ouo
mau from oach district be elected
on credentials Dr Bonte W H
Johnson Eugene Sullivan and J
M Sims were elected
After a recess of five minuloe
when the committee lopoited it
was moved that the matter ot per
manent organization be proceeded
with and Colonel McCarthy was
nominated for permanent chairman
Col McCarthy in returning thanks
said that he believed that the Demo
cratic parly would exert a great in
fluence in Hawaiian affairs and had
groat work to do for the future of
these Islands There are no job
chasers in the Democratic party
said tho Colonel we are all work
ing harmoniously together for the
good of the country and tho inter
ests of everybody

manent secretary after which Col
McCarthy called for dominations
for delegates to Kansas City

honor stating as his reasmfcrdoirg

felt he would not bo doing justice
to his clients if he west - to Kansas

convention Resolutions were adopt
ed in the connection
Mr Camara moved that thoplat
form of tho Democratic party as
adopted at the mass meeting last
Saturday bo approved by tho con
vention This motion was unani
mously carried
Mr McClanahan moved that tho
secretary bo instructed to soud a

Oity notifying the central com
mittee of the names of tho choeon
Hawaiian delegates that seats and
accommodations might be reserved
for the representatives of these Isl
ands This will bo dono
