In 1888 Aloho Lodge No 8 K
of P was organized at Wailuku
Since the firo in Kahului in Feb
1900 tho lodge has mot in Wailuku
in rather cramped quartors With
the renaissance of Wailuku and the
targe increase in tho membership of
Aloha Lodgp tho need for a more
commodious oaRtlo ball was felt
and the result is a 9000 castle hall
on ground owned by Aloha Lodgp
The dedication exercises on
Thursday evening woro in keeping

When the hour for the dedication
exeroites arrived a large number of
invited guests fiom all parts of Maui
wore assembled Ater Rome prelim
inary secret work the doors of Alo
ha Lodge were thrown opeD and the
impressive ceremonies of the dedi
cation were witnessed by as many
guests a3 the hall would contaiD
Tho hall itself 1b one of the hand
someBt on the Islands and was bril
liantly lighted The solemn rites of
dedication tho charming effect of so
many handsomly droBBod and at
tractive lady visitors and tbe soft
strains of the baud outside united
to mark a golden hour in the mem
ory of all present
When the ceremonies were con
aludod social converse waB indulged
in for a short time and them tho
hall was cleared for dancing The
musio furnished by tho government
band was delightful and till a late
hour in the morning tbe floor was
crowded with dancers who chased
the golden hours with flying feet
At midnight an elaborate banquet
was spread down stairs with enough
for all tbe invited gueBta
The whnlo bffair from its concep
tion to its finish was wisely arranged
and happily carried out and too
much praise cannot be awarded to
Aloha Lodge for the rare entertain
ment afforded to the people of Maui
