from Judiciary reported on the ap
propriations for polioe and prison
lunaB The Attorney General and
High Sheriff were consulted and it
does not believe that the eight hour
labor law applies to policemen as
in the opinion of the Attorney Gen
eral made a part of this report But
on said consultation it does believe
that the law shall not affect the po
lice foroe on the other islands yet
il may apply to a few places snoh
as turnkeys in the Station House
Oahu Prison Wailuku Prison Hilo
Prison and Lihue Prison and the
Honolulu Patrol Wagon drivers
and therefore recommends that ap
ornnriationB should be made for
thoEO places giving one more man

ready reported in the Senate pro
ceedings the other day
The Senate transmitted last Fri
day a concurrent resolution relat
ing to appropriations under the
Loan Bill Tabled to be considered
together with the bill
The Senate also transmitted Bill
K defraying the expenses of the
Senate in extra session It was
taken up read and passed first read
ing by title and set for the order
of business tomorrow on second
reading
Eupihea offered a resolution that
75000 be inserted in tho Appro
priation Bill for the purpose
purchasing the right-of-way
tending and maoadamizing

Months Current Account Bill and
7 Loan Appropriation Bill
Each Iioubo to work as follows
