Helm, of the Parksville section, lost a fine steer Sunday. In walking too neur a small stream the embankment gave way. It fell in such a position it could not get out. When found it was so chilled from lying in the cold water ft could not be revived. Mr. Phelps Cobb has let Mr. It. S. Scudder, of McKinney, take his nice Preston mare "Etta Bell" to breed this year. Monte Fox, of Danville, sold last Week 450 head of cattle to New York narties at $7.25 jer hundred. The cattle had been slop-fed nt the dis tilleries in Marion county. This is one of theNbiggest cattle deals that has been made in Kentucky in many months. Fox ODaniel & Co. have sold to Xew York parties 540 head of fat tie now being fed nt the Mueller, Wnthen & Kobert Distillery at $7.25 per hundred. This firm nlo sold to the snme parties one car of bulls nt 5 3-4 nnd one car at 5 1-2 cents Gardner & Co. nt Loretto, has sold 150 head of slop cattle to parties in Indinnnpolis nt $6.00 per hundred, also two enrs of bulU at $5.55. He also bought a fancy butcher hdifer of Mr. Chnrles Caldwell, for $57.50, and one of Jos. Alcorn for $50. He bought several other heifers nnd steers at 4 1-4 to 4 3-4 cents und four veal calve at five cents per pound. Their pur chase were the cream of this and Lincoln couutv. Danville Messeu-ger.
