THREE SMALL FIRES.
The "wild-cat" fire alarm has been
working orer-tlmo during the past

citizens were called up to watch a
caboose, of the N. C. & St. L. rail
road burn. Too car was standing on
a track with a steep Incline; the
brakes were released and the car, a
mass of flames, hiked down the grade
making a grand pyrotechnlcal display

out in the 4-rooni residence of Geo.
Calllson, in West Hickman. The flro
made such headway before help ar

wero totally destroyed. The resi
dence waB owned by Judgo H. S.
Murrell; he carried 300 Insurance.

contents. The origin of the fire is
unknown. It Is said that a straw
bed caught fire Saturday night and
