The following ordinances which
were introduced at last regular meet
ing wero again separately taken up
and read, and on motion, same wero
unanimously adopted by the vote of
the five councilmen present:
Tho City Council of tho City of
Hickman. Ky., do ordain as follows:
That a concrete sidewalk six feet
wide with a curb sufficient shall be
put down at tho expense of tho prop
erty owners on tho east side of Ken
tucky stroet from the south side of
Clinton street to tho North side of
Carroll street In Hickman, Ky., and
the cost thereof shall be paid by the
owners of the property In proportion
to the frontage
The property owners, W, A. Dodds,
Tom Dillon, Sr., H. L. Cray Stephen
Stahr, and J. W. Ward and R. H.
Kirk ore hereby directed to have said
concreto side-walk put down out of
material and by competent workmen
as may bo approved by the Street
Commissioner, after service of a not
ice on each after the passage of this
ordinance, and upon failure of anyone
to proceed with putting down said
concrete side-walk in twenty days af
ter the service of such notice, tho
Street Commissioner is hereby direct
ed to proceed to have sold walks
constructed at the expense of tho
property owner by letting contracts
for same to the lowest bidder after
advertising tbo time, placo and terms
of same for two weeks by publication

That'll shall bo unlawful on Clin
ton street for any wagon or dray to
bo backed against the sidewalk for
the purpose of loading or unloading
freight, or for any purpose, and any
driver or person so offending shall,
upon conviction, bo fined not less
than Five Dollars nor more than Ten
DollaYs for each offense and the
costs of prosecution.

man, Ky.. by amending so as to read
as follows:
Tho City Council of tho City of
Hickman, Ky., do ordain as follow
That It shall bo unlawful for any
automobile to bo driven ou Uio
streets of Hickman, Ky., at a greater
spoed than twelvo miles an hour, vx
cept that upon Clinton street and
Jackson street. In Hickman, K., the
rate at which nu nutomobllo shall be
driven shall not exceed eight rolls
an hour and tho rate at which nu nu
tomobllo shsll be driven down hill
shall not exceed six miles an hour.
That It shall bo Unlawful for an)
automobile to approach any street
crossing or any turn In tbo streets
In tho City of Hickman, Ky., without
giving signals at least one hundred
feet beforo approaching said crossing,
That It shall be unlawful for any
automobile to be driven on tbo streets
of lllckmnn, Ky., after dark without
at least one headlight burning.
Any person violating any of the
sections of this ordinance shall upon
conviction be fined not less than Five
Dollars nor nioro than Fifty Dollars
and the costs of prosecution.
The City Marshal Is hereby direct

As to Foreign Missions, I represent

As a result of it, wo had lu the for

and our missions girdle the earth.
Our ahurch gnu last year to this en

est efforts are spent In this enter
prise and lu our eagerness to help

As to Homo Missions, wo, as a

last year, and had In the Hutu

pastors.) Yet, I grant you, with alt
this money and all those workers, wo
fall to reach thousands who need our
help. And this Is the point that I
oon talk with you on. I wish to state

onuse and tho labor spent toward
It Is not sufficient to cover the whole

point there Is work left undone
