Medicine in University College, London, consul
ting physician to the Hospital for Consumption,
etc., say : " 1 nave prescribed the UU in above
four hundred cases of tuberculous disease of the
Lunga. in different atages,wbich have been onder
my care the last two years and a bait. In tbe
large number of cases, 206 out of 234. its use was
followed by msrked, unequivocal improvement,
varying in degree in different cases, from a tem
porary retardation of ihe progress of the disease
snd a mitigation of distressing symptoms, np to
a more or less complete restoration to apparent
health.
"The effect of the Cod Liver Oil in moat of
these cases was very remarkable. Even in a few
days the cough waa mitigated, ihe expectoration
diminished in quantity and opacity, the night
sweats ceased, the pulse became slower, and of
better volume, and the appetite, flesh and strength
were gradually improved.
In conclusion I repeat that the pure freah Oil
from the Liver of tbe Cod is more beneficial in
the treatment of Pulmonary Consumption than
any agent, medicinrl. dietetic or regimenal, that
baa yet been employed."
