bacher Shortly afterward a number of
creditors began action in the Superior
Court to set aside the assignment upon
the ground of fraud The claims in
volved in the action aggregate more
than 200000 The court rendered a
decision today in favor of plaintiffs
declaring the assignmentfraudulent and
void and decreeing that a receiver of
the estate of the insolvent firm should
be appointed The court said it was in
evidence that members of the firm had
drawn money out of the find a few days I
before the assignment

shoulder The shooting was the
outcome of an article published inthe
Chronicle last Sunday morning respect

cial Sugar Company Spreckels was ar
rested and taken to the station house

with him two other clerks rushed up
and overpowered him A moment after
